about

A shadowy coalition between indie rock and 80’s pop/darkwave. Hollow opens over minimalist swirls of ominous sounds evocative of a classic 80’s horror film soundtrack. Scarlett’s voice maintains a trancelike composure insinuating a feeling of creeping dread. The song seamlessly swells and mutates into a fast-packed mock gothic 1980’s pop/rock chorus with urgent, syncopated grooves and full-throttle gritty vocals. The alliance of mythological imagery with the twisted, hypnotic echoes of the synth hauntingly paint the spectral portrait of what remains of a scorned woman and her painfully vacant heart.

lyrics

Your precious skin, tethered and cold
Folded in on all sides into a bastion of stone
Into a hollow, a hollow heart

You've been failed and forget
Expended of love
Now you're bone china dear
And no one can touch
You and your hollow, your hollow heart
You and your hollow, your hollow heart

Chorus
Where you felt it, felt it, now is nothing
Where you felt it, felt it, now is numb
Where you felt it, felt it, now is nothing
Where you felt it, felt it, now is hollow, hollow
Is a hollow heart

Your house of Eros is no palace at all
Here is sea bottom cold
Every window a wall
Here in your hollow, your hollow heart
Here in your hollow, your hollow heart

Chorus

Bridge
Hear the echoes go boom boom boom
